This Cancer Center is headed by Dr. G. Govindaraj MS., MCh in Uraiyur, Trichy. Numerous cancer patients have been treated and benefited from this hospital. The center also offers free medical care to poor simple cancer patients.
The purpose of starting this center
His father was diagnosed with cancer Died without the effect of treatment. The hospital was started by Dr. Govindaraj with the noble intention that no one else should be diagnosed with cancer like his father.
The young couple, Dr. G Govindaraj and his wife Dr. P Sasipriya Govidaraj has determined to dedicate their lives to cancer research and treatment in a meaningful way.
Education
Bereaved over the death of his father due to throat Cancer, Dr.G.Govindaraj decided to quit his erstwhile roaring medical practice to pursue higher studies in Surgical Oncology. His devotion made him win the Gold Medal in M.Ch (Surgical Oncology). The grim determination of the family to fight against cancer is followed suit by his wife, Dr.Pon Sasipriya also, who took up her higher studies in Radiation Oncology. And she too proved her mettle by winning the Gold Medal in her faculty.

They were working in leading cancer centers like Madras Medical College, Government Royapettah Hospital, Government Arignar Anna Memorial Cancer Hospital, Kanchipuram, and Adyar Cancer Institute.
Harshamitra super-specialty cancer center and Research Institute
Harshamitra Superspeciality Cancer center had its seed from the heart of Dr.G.Govindaraj M.Ch (Master of Chirurgery). F.I.C.S., from the death of his father due to throat cancer. was the seed of sorrow over the death of his father.
Keeping in mind the painful experience he had when his father was suffering from throat cancer and the lack of facilities in Trichy at that time, Dr.G.Govindaraj wanted to establish a founded “Harshamitra super-specialty cancer center and Research Institute” an advanced cancer treatment center at Trichy on 11/12/2010. To deliver cancer treatment on par with international standards and at an affordable cost to the people of Trichy. Thus bloomed Harshamitra cancer center in the central part of TamilNadu, Trichy.
Rose Garden Trust
The Rose Garden Trust was started with a vision to provide free medical services and a serene living to the terminal cancer patients to live the rest of their life. Since its inception in 2008 (Regna. No. 620/08, IT exempted u/s 80G) till now, Rose Garden has conducted more than 600 free cancer camps, and thousands of people from all walks of life have benefitted.
The founders of this trust - Dr. G Govindaraj M.B.B.S, M.S, M.ch, F.I.C.S., and Dr. P Sasipriya Govindaraj M.B.B.S, MD, DMRT. started this trust with a noble cause to serve the people and spread awareness and to provide a free screening of Cervical and oral cancer to the general public in the name of Srimathi Dhanabackiyam Pon Memorial Trust since 2008. With around 13 years since its inception, our trust has done a plethora of activities for the welfare of the public.

Our Trust activities
Screening Camps:
Our trust has conducted various free cancer screening camps for both rural and urban populations. Pap smear test which is used in the diagnosis of cervix cancer in women were done free of cost to above5000 women over the past 3 years by our trust Rose garden. We have screened above5000 cases and found 75 women with cervix cancer over the past 3 years. Early diagnosis saves lives when it comes to cancer.
Awareness Camps:
The first step to bring about any change in society is to break the ignorance. Our trust provides the complete details of causes of cancer, symptoms, vaccination details, precautionary details by a Medical Practitioner to the public. In that notch, we have conducted more than 600 awareness camps in the following sector: village population (in and around Trichy and Tanjore), school and college students, the general public, NGOs, employees in the Government sector, etc.
Donations/Free Surgeries/Free cancer medicines:
Our trust also provides financial assistance to patients who deserve it. We have supported them by providing them free cancer drugs. We have also provided a Chemo port worth Rs 50,000/- totally free for a deserving breast cancer patient.

Free Thermo gram – A Screening tool for breast cancer:
Our trust along with Harshamitra Superspeciality Cancer center has organized to provide completely free Thermo gram screening for women. Rs 1900/- worth Thermogram was done completely free of cost with a social motive of providing early breast cancer screening. More than 400 women got benefitted.
RIPMER (Rose garden Institute of Paramedical Education and Research)
Our trust Rose garden is involved in providing education to downtrodden/ financially backward candidates. We have the following courses Dip in Healthcare Assistance, Dip in Operation Technician, Dip in Radiation technician, Dip in Lab Technician; these courses are affiliated under CTDS. Currently, we are running the 10th batch of students. Free accommodation facility along with extra-curricular activities like – Stitching, beautician courses, spoken English is being followed.
Free Information Centre:
Our Rose garden Trust has opened a 24/7 functioning Free Information Centre. This Centre deals with patients/ caretakers providing them with information such as; providing them with various options of cancer centers in their locality, CM insurance options available in various centers, and also all the details needed by the patient/caretaker over call or mail or direct walk-in.
Other Activities:
Special campaign for “No Tobacco Day” and “World Breast Cancer” month is followed every year. Free Nico gums were provided to smokers to help them overcome their smoking habit thereby eradicating oral cancers. Cycle rally was conducted on No Tobacco Day, 2018 flagged off by District Collector Trichy.

Has received over a hundred awards for outstanding service. In addition, the Tamil Nadu Health Department has given a special award in appreciation of the service of this hospital
AIM
The first objective of the hospital is to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of cancer in the global arena and to provide world-class appropriate treatment with individual and individual attention at a reasonable cost.
